The thoughts and reflections presented in this paper are taken from a broader
study written for the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, to be published
later in 2008.
The issue of the future of the Jewish people and of Judaism preoccupies
many Jews, including leaders of Israel and the Jewish People. They face
many critical questions, for example: Which historic factors explain the
survival of the Jewish people for millennia, against the odds? Are these still
at work today? What does the future hold? How can it be shaped and
influenced?
