Board of Directors & Professional Guiding Council

Mr. Leonid Nevzlin is the Associate Chairman of JPPPI's Board of Directors and Professional Guiding Council. Nevzlin, who has a background in policy planning, held several significant positions in Russia, in both the public and private sectors including: Rector of Moscow's University of the Humanities, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament and President of the Russian-Jewish Congress.

He is an active philanthropist who has been involved in and supportive of Jewish educational projects. In Israel, Mr. Nevzlin established the NADAV Fund to support initiatives that strengthen Jewish Peoplehood, build substantive and pluralistic Jewish identity, and create lasting connections among Jews the world over.

Mr. Nevzlin is Chairman of the International Board of Governors of Beit Hatfutsot (The Diaspora Museum, recently renamed the Museum of the Jewish People), and has led the efforts to first rescue and then revitalize the institution.

Mr. Nevzlin serves on the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Board of Trustees of Keren Hayesod - the United Israel Appeal. Nevzlin will serve as international chair of the 2009 General Assembly of UJC/Jewish Federations of North America.
