This activity explores the writings of approximately twenty ancient and recent historians who studied the rise, thriving and decline of various nations and civilizations. This exploration is yielding general conclusions about rise and decline that are likely to be valid for the Jewish people as well. The project is considering the policy implications of these general conclusions: how to ensure the thriving of the Jewish people and prevent its decline? A first draft of the paper has been discussed at the Wye Plantation Conferences in June 2006 and can be found on the JPPPI web-site.
